Events Calendar
The Events Calendar is where you run your store’s event program. You create events once — a one-off prerelease, or a weekly FNM that repeats forever — and Sideboard handles the rest: a public page where customers sign up, a roster for each night, ticket sales through your Shopify checkout, and event listings published straight to your storefront.
Is it included in my plan?
Yes, if you subscribe to at least one catalog. The Events Calendar is free with any catalog subscription — you don’t add it, buy it, or turn it on. Once you’re subscribed to a game, Calendar appears in your sidebar.
| Your situation | What the calendar costs |
|---|---|
| One or more catalogs | Free — included with your subscription |
| All Access | Free — included in the plan |
| No catalog at all | $150 CAD/month standalone |
That last row is for shops that want an events page and nothing else. If you’re already paying for a catalog, you’ll never see a calendar charge on your invoice.
Already paying for it separately? If you bought the calendar standalone and later subscribe to a catalog, Sideboard removes the calendar line from your subscription automatically and credits you for the unused portion. You keep the calendar; you just stop paying for it.
If you cancel your last catalog, the calendar goes with it — along with your published storefront event listings. You can re-subscribe to the calendar on its own if you want to keep running events without a catalog.
A failed payment suspends the calendar the same way it suspends your catalogs: your public calendar and your storefront event listings come down until the invoice clears. Keep your card current if you have events on the books.
Where everything lives
| What you want to do | Where |
|---|---|
| See the month at a glance, create events | Calendar in the sidebar |
| Edit an event, see attendees, export sign-ups | Calendar → click any event |
| Choose how customers pay for tickets | Settings → Organization → Calendar |
| Show events on your storefront | Automatic once Shopify is connected — see Events on your storefront |
Your public calendar
Every store gets a public, no-login sign-up page:
app.sideboard.gg/c/[your-store-slug]/calendarCustomers see a month grid plus a list of everything in the next 60 days. They pick a night, fill in a name and email, and they’re registered — no Sideboard account required. Share this link directly, or let your Shopify storefront render the same events natively (that’s the nicer option — see Events on your storefront).
Getting started in five minutes
- Open Calendar in the sidebar.
- Click New event, or pick a day and click New event on this day.
- Fill in the title, when it runs, how long, capacity, and a ticket price if you charge one. See Creating events.
- Decide how you collect ticket money in Settings → Organization → Calendar — in person, or online through your Shopify checkout. See Tickets and payment.
- Share your public calendar link, or connect Shopify and let your storefront list the events for you.
What a night looks like
Once people start signing up, open the event and click Attendees on any date. You get the roster for that night — name, email, player tag if you collect it, and payment status — with an Export signups button that hands you a CSV for pairings or your POS. See Sign-ups and attendees.
