Newsletter
An email sign-up block: a heading, a short pitch, and an email field with a button.
What it’s for. Growing your email list. It uses Shopify’s built-in customer form, so anyone who signs up lands in your store’s Customers list (tagged newsletter) and is ready for email marketing. After a successful sign-up the form swaps to a thank-you message.
When to use it. Near the bottom of your homepage, or on a landing page where you want to capture emails before someone leaves.
Ways to use it
- Restock alerts — “Get restock alerts” with a line about singles and sealed product dropping back in.
- Set release notifications — “New set release notifications” ahead of a Lorcana or MTG launch.
- Buylist hot list — email when cards you’re paying top dollar for change.
- Event announcements — heads-up on Friday Night Magic and prerelease dates.
Tips
- It writes the wrong-email and “thanks for subscribing” messages for you, so don’t worry about wiring those up. You can reword the success line and the placeholder.
- Layout is either centered or left-aligned. Centered reads like a closing call to action; left pairs better next to other content.
- Add a background image and the text turns white over a dark overlay automatically — good for a hero-style sign-up.
- Use the disclaimer line for “We’ll only email you about restocks and events” or a link to your privacy policy. It’s blank by default.
