Password

The gate visitors see when your store is password-protected and not yet public.

What it’s for. Showing a simple landing page with a message and a password box, so only people with the password can get in.

When to use it. This is the password template. It shows up automatically when password protection is on (Online Store > Preferences) — you don’t add it as a section.

Ways to use it

• A “coming soon” holding page before launch, with a note telling visitors when you’ll open.

Tips

• Turn password protection on or off in your Shopify admin, not here.
• The message under the title comes from the “password page message” field in Online Store > Preferences. Leave it blank and no message shows.
• There are no settings on this section. Staff get in by typing the store password into the box.
