Upcoming Events

A compact grid of your next few in-store events.

What it’s for. Teasing what’s coming up (tournaments, leagues, prerelease nights) right on your homepage. Each card shows the date, game, start time, price, and how many spots are left, and links to that event’s own page where people register.

When to use it. Drop it on your homepage as a teaser. It’s the short version of the full Events Overview page — show a handful here, point people to the rest. It reads from your Event entries, which Sideboard publishes to your Shopify store for you from the Events Calendar — you don’t create them by hand. Ways to use it

• Whole-store calendar — show your next 4 events across every game.
• One-game spotlight — set the game filter to “Magic: The Gathering” to feature only your FNM and Modern nights.
• Busy week — bump it to 8 events and 4 columns when the calendar’s packed.

Tips

• Recurring events show one card, not many. A weekly league appears once, as its next occurrence, so it can’t fill the whole grid. Only events with a recurring sentence collapse this way; one-off events always keep their own card, even when they share a name.
• Past events drop off automatically; cancelled events stay, struck through with a “Cancelled” pill, so a schedule change is visible rather than silent.
• The game filter matches loosely, so keep your game names consistent across events.
• When a ticket’s down to 5 spots or fewer, the card shows a “spots left” badge; sold-out events get a “Sold Out” badge and dim. An event with no ticket reads as free unless it carries an at-the-door price.
• “View all” links out to your events page — set that URL, or it defaults to /pages/events.
