Search results

The page people land on after they hit search — the full list of matching products at /search.

What it’s for. Showing every product that matches a query, laid out as TCG cards. It reads the shopper’s terms, shows “results for [terms]” with a count, and pages through the matches. Past 1,000 hits it shows “1,000+” since that’s Shopify’s cap.

When to use it. This is the search template — there’s one, and it runs the /search page. It’s not the predictive dropdown in your header. That dropdown shows a quick as-you-type preview (products and collections); “View all results” lands here for the full, sortable, filterable list.

Ways to use it

  • In-stock by default — leave the In Stock filter on so a search for “Charizard” shows what shoppers can actually buy, with sold-out cards tucked behind the toggle.
  • Grid for browsing, list for scanning — keep grid as the default for singles shopping; shoppers can flip to list (price/quantity per row) for fast restock runs. Their choice sticks.
  • Hide the in-page search bar — your header already has predictive search, so turning off “Show search bar” drops the redundant, preview-less one on the page.

Tips

  • Results are products only — pages, articles, and blog posts don’t show here.
  • Sort options: relevance, price, title, and newest. Relevance and what counts as a match come from Shopify’s Search & Discovery, not this section.
  • The In Stock toggle is Shopify’s native availability filter; it carries across a new search so the shopper keeps their view.
  • Card extras — condition/finish swatches, quick-add, playset — match your product cards. Set them here for the search page specifically.
